Head Coach

Hockey Background:

Terry’s hockey career began as a goalie playing in House league as a Tyke to playing AAA at the Bantam and Midget levels. He started learning the art of coaching while playing in the NOJHA. As a back-up goalie, listening and learning to mentors with a lot of experience and good knowledge of the game guided him to retire his goalie pads and take up the rink diagram pad.

Coaching Experience:

With over 30 years offering and sharing his hockey knowledge, Terry has a diverse portfolio of coaching experiences including: Educator, Evaluator, Training Specialist, Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Consultant, On-ice helper, Coach Mentor and Trainer. Wearing various hats has enabled Terry to view and understand the game better from different perspectives. Head Coach is a role that Terry has held for several years in different associations like OMHA, CMHA, Eastern Ontario Wild and Gloucester Rangers. Terry also coached in Sudbury, Montreal and Switzerland.

Coaching Philosophy:

Our primary goal and passion are to develop players to reach their maximum potential and eventually expose and open them up to other opportunities within hockey and outside the rink by improving their strengths and helping them to overcome their weakness while still learning the game. The bottom line: We are committed to developing players who are committed to their own development. We have high expectations for our team, and we expect the team to compete at the highest level and have accountability for the games/practices on any given day. Open communication and leadership will be the foundation of the team. The combination of a good work ethic during practices and giving one’s best effort to the team during games will result in more self-confidence which dovetails into building a team culture that is positive, cohesive and successful.
